Hi there –

It’s Ken here. I just released my first solo acoustic EP, titled “this is cross kentucky.” I’m really excited and proud to finally have my music publicly available, and I’ll be working hard to promote it online and at upcoming shows. But right now, I’d like to talk to you now about another project I’ve been working on for a long time – and I need your help to make it a reality.

I’m both a singer-songwriter AND a saxophonist. It may sound strange, but these two aspects of my musicianship have, for the most part, always existed separately from one another. I’d like to change that- with my first full-length, professionally produced album. My songs have always been roots-based, embracing the best and most enduring aspects of rock, americana, country, and pop. And the saxophone is also a roots instrument, having been around for every major musical innovation in American music since its invention the late 19th century.

I’ve been trying to bring these two sides of myself together for years, and I’m now ready to do it – in a collection of songs that highlight the different arcs of love, change, and restlessness that my life has drawn for itself up until now. This album will be a full band venture, with a wide palette of colors and sounds, drawn from the many musicians that I’ve had the good fortune to play with in the past.

With your help, this record can do so much for my music and my career. It will bring my songs to life in a full, rich way that I’ve not been able to realize before; it will greatly increase my music’s exposure to the world through online and print reviews, blogs, and sales; it will enable my songs to be licensed by TV, film and radio; and it will enable me to secure bookings with bigger and better venues both regionally and nationally. All of these avenues and steps exist, of course, so that you – the listener – have better access to my music.
